31 Mac ‘ONE BIKE, NO BOUNDARIES’: Hong Leong Yamaha Motor Launches the New Ténéré 700
Sungai Buloh, 31 March 2026 — Hong Leong Yamaha Motor (“HLYM”) has launched the new Yamaha Tenere 700 (“Tenere 700”), embodying the true spirit of adventure touring for riders seeking freedom, exploration, and the confidence to go beyond boundaries.
As Malaysian riders increasingly embrace touring and cross-border exploration as part of their lifestyles, the Tenere 700 delivers a balance of long-distance comfort and off-road capability, making every journey more confident and meaningful.
Commenting on the market outlook, Mr Loh Heng Choy, newly appointed Managing Director of HLYM, said: “The big bike segment in Malaysia is experiencing strong growth, with total industry volume increasing significantly from 2024 to 2025. More importantly, the above 500cc segment is expanding rapidly, with the adventure category particularly in the mid-weight range gaining strong momentum. This trend reflects a growing desire among riders to travel further and explore more interesting places.”
The new Ténéré 700, launched alongside Yamaha’s motorsport teams, media, and content creators, was introduced in a single striking color: Adventure Blue. This vibrant, modern expression is inspired by the limitless sky, symbolizing freedom, exploration, and endless possibilities.
It comes equipped with a range of new features designed to enhance both performance and touring experience. At the heart of the upgrade is the all-new Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle (“YCC-T”) introduced for the first time on the CP2 engine delivering a smoother and more precise throttle response. Riders can now choose between two riding modes: SPORT, for more aggressive performance, and EXPLORER, which offers smoother power delivery for long-distance touring and technical riding conditions.
The touring experience is further enhanced with a more comfortable riding position, featuring a flatter seat and larger footrests, along with improved durability through an updated linked-type Monocross rear suspension and adjustable upside-down front suspension with 43mm inner tubes.
The motorcycle also features a 3-mode switchable ABS system and a switchable Traction Control System (“TCS”), allowing riders to adapt the bike to different riding conditions, including off-road environments.
In addition, the Tenere 700 introduces new intuitive switchgear for improved usability, including features such as three-flash signaling and auto-canceling indicators.
For enhanced visibility, the bike is equipped with a new quad LED headlight, providing better illumination for night riding.
A 6.3-inch TFT display with connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation further elevates the riding experience, offering two selectable display themes – Sport and Explorer, paired with a navigation system, along with a USB Type-C port for added convenience on long journeys.
The Yamaha Ténéré 700 is priced at RM58,998.00. This pricing reflects Hong Leong Yamaha Motor’s commitment to making adventure touring more accessible and enabling more riders to own a capable machine built for exploration.
