Seremban, 28th May 2019 – As Ramadan draws to a close, Hong Leong Yamaha Motor Sdn Bhd (HLYM) launched its 21st Yamaha Balik Kampung Road Safety Campaign at Betaria Business Centre, Seremban in conjunction with Hari Raya, and in collaboration with the Malaysia Motorcycle and Scooter Dealers Association (MMSDA).

Tunggang Berhati-hati, Keluarga Tersayang Menanti, ‘Ride Safe, Your Loved Ones Await’, takes caution from the many reports of road accidents and especially fatalities during the festive season, and aims to nurture good road safety practices amongst local motorcyclists in line withgovernment‟s aspiration in reducing road-user fatality rates.

Road safety massages were emphasized during the event through various activities, including the Yamaha Safety Riding Science (YSRS) and Yamaha Safety Riding Science (YSRS) KIDS segments, a booth by FKR Marketing Sdn Bhd, a complimentary 8-point safety check for all motorcycle models, and a spark plug safety check by NGK Spark Plugs Malaysia Berhad.

A total of 900 SIRIM-approved helmets sponsored by Aeon Credit and KHI Helmets Industries Sdn Bhd, as well as safety vests sponsored by Pacific & Orient Insurance Co. Bhd, were distributed to the public during the event.

The Road Safety Campaign will also be at the following locations where motorcycle users of all brands are invited to visit for a complimentary safety check, from 10am to 2pm.

During the launch, Hong Leong Yamaha Motor took the opportunity to introduce the “Yamaha Cares” Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) logo. Yamaha Cares, will focus on enriching the well-being of society by delivering broader and measurable impact on road safety initiativesfocusing on three P’s – People, Planet, and Product.

“Yamaha Cares will streamline all our CSR activities over the past four decades under one umbrella which would allow us to strategically consolidate efforts and deliver programs with measurable outcome through collaborative activities within communities, institutions, corporations and government agencies,” said Dato‟ Jim Khor, Managing Director of Hong Leong Yamaha Motor.

The launch was officiated by Yang Berhormat Anthony Loke Siew Fook, Minister of Transport Malaysia and was witnessed by Dato‟ Jim Khor, Managing Director of Hong Leong YamahaMotor and Mr Wee Hong, Chairman of Malaysia Motorcycle and Scooter Dealers Association (MMSDA).
