THIRD TIME’S THE CHARM

Yamaha PETRONAS Super Series boy wonder, Mohd Haziq Fairues again topped the Yamaha one make podium with another win in Muar, Johor for the third round of the 2015 PETRONAS AAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship to lead a solid 75 points overall.

With the fastest time set under his belt from Friday’s Timed Practice session, Haziq launched off pole position with minor resistance from two Shahfiqs, one being second place winner Mohd Shahfiq Nizwan and another one, Mohd Shahfiq Shahrun Nizam who came up third.

Though not his best run so far, Haziq played well despite being pressured earlier in the race before opening up a four second gap that left Shahfiq Nizwan gasping for air. Haziq timed his race in 10:45.123s while the runner up crossed the line 4.155s later. Things were harder for Shahfiq Shahrun who were left out of the battle to finish 8.733s behind the winner.

“I hope things will get easier for me for the rest of the season. Not being to over confident, I’m still glad I could pull off a third win so far,” said Haziq, clearly elated over his victory in Muar.
