Hong Leong Yamaha Motor Introduces Nationwide Safety Programme

“Kesedaran Persediaan Penunggangan” Programme aims to increase road safety awareness amongst Malaysians

Kuala Lumpur, 24 September 2018 – Hong Leong Yamaha Motor Sdn Bhd (HLYM) is taking the road safety awareness to the next level with the launch of its new nationwide road safety programme “Kesedaran Persediaan Penunggangan (KPP)”.

The KPP Programme is developed in support of Malaysia Motorcycle and Scooter Dealer Association (MMSDA) and Jabatan Keselamatan Jalan Raya Malaysia (JKJR) yearly initiative as a continuous effort in creating awareness on the importance of road safety to all Malaysians.

Under this programme, HLYM is working with all its Yamaha authorised dealers nationwide in knowledge sharing and education sessions with their new customers. In addition, each customer will be provided with a copy of “Buku Panduan Kesedaran Persediaan Penunggangan (KPP)”, a safety handbook developed between HLYM and JKJR for motorcyclists.

“The emphasis on our customers’ safety will always be our company utmost priority and HLYM will continue to advocate the importance of road safety through many more programmes in the near future. Based on our insight, we realise that some of the new motorcycle owners are not quite well aware on the basic safety requirements when they are on the road. We hope that with the KPP Programme, we will be able to educate them with the right information so that they can be a good example to other road users,” said Dato’ Jim Khor.

The “Kesedaran Persediaan Penunggangan (KPP)” Programme was officiated by Datuk Mohamad Dahlan Md Maamor, Political Secretary, on behalf of the Transport Minister, Yang Berhormat Anthony Loke and was witnessed by Dato’ Jim Khor, Managing Director of Hong Leong Yamaha Motor Sdn Bhd and Mr. Wee Hong, Chairman of Malaysia Motorcycle and Scooter Dealer Association.
