CUB PRIX ROUND 3: TIMED PRACTICE REPORT

CP130

Ahmad Fuad Baharudin enjoyed a competitive start to Round 3 of the PETRONAS AAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship in Terengganu as he logged in third quickest in the CP130 timed practice today.

The Faito Yamaha Motobert recorded his best lap at 41.254s,just 0.162 seconds off fastest rider, Mohd Zaqhwan Zaidi who timed 41.092s. Defending CP130 Champion, Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman second with 41.209s.

Pleased with the results, Ahmad Fuad hopes to better his lap time in Sunday’s SuperPole in his attempt to secure his second podium for the season after winning the previous round in Malacca.

Motul Yamaha YY Pang’s Adib Rosley did not disappoint either. The CP130 rookie became the second fastest Yamaha rider for the day coming in fifth with 41.376s behind Mohd Affendi Rosli.

CP115

Yamaha’s presence was also felt in the CP115 category where Mohd Shariffudin Shamsuddin concluded the timed practice sessions third fastest.

The PETRONAS Yamaha – CKJ rider who has yet to secure a podium since the season commenced logged in his best lap time at 42.149s behind MAZ Racing duo, Mohd Haiekal Akmal Zakaria and Fakhrusy Syakirin Rostam with 42.059s and 42.144s respectively.

Motul Yamaha YY Pang’s Tengku Amirul Haffiruddin who missed out on the previous round due to injury came back strong to register  fourth fastest with 42.196s followed by Mohd Emir Firdaus Hasan fifth, 42.428s.

WIRA

Mohd Hafiza Rofa inches closer to his dreams of scoring a hat-trick as he recorded the best lap time in the WIRA practice session at his home track.

The Warner Pumps – YSP rider who won the first two rounds this season timed his best lap at 43.143s followed by Khairul Idham Pawi and Mohd Shafiq Rasol, 42.896s and 41.143s respectively.

Yamaha 135 Super Series PETRONAS

A fine run from Mohd Azam Omar as he topped  the Yamaha 135 Super Series PETRONAS timed at Stadium Sultan Mizan Gong Badak, host to the third leg of the PETRONAS AAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship.

Azam went ahead of the pack competitively fast to record 44.103s ahead of Mohd Iqbal Amri Abdul Malek with 44.528s. Third fastest for the day in the Yamaha one-make category was Mohd Ibrahim Norrodin, 44.779s.

Completing the top five were Mohd Helmi Azman and Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin with 45.084s and 45.144s respectively.
